Asus has entered in to budget-laptop segment with its new series called K50IJ-C1. Asus is well-known for its high quality, but its prices are not always low. But now Asus has made a strong move by producing K50IJ-C1 mainstream notebook in the budget-laptop segment. Look wise, the Asus K50IJ-C1 is as good as any other mainstream laptop. It has sleek and glossy design and its LCD has a wide-screen aspect ratio which makes it appear heavier than 5.7 pounds. It has well structured touch pad and shiny and metallic left and right clicks buttons. With price range starts at $ 676, the K50IJ-C1 offers above-average performance in the midsize laptop with a 15.6-inch screen segment.

The Asus K50IJ is a very well build up laptop. The chassis is pretty solid, made from a mixture of glossy and matte plastics and doesn’t suffer from the flex or screeches that are common to cheap plastics. The palm rests are glossy, nice and large and the full-size keyboard with dedicated number pad is very comfortable for typing for a full day at work. The only weaker area of it is the plastic covers over the screen axis which can crack with just a little bit of pressure.
It has 15.6-inch wide-screen LCD with resolution of 1,366×768 pixels which delivers high-quality pictures. Most of the note books available today have glossy screens but the K50IJ-C1 had a different story. It tends to show glare in bright lighting conditions.
According to Asus, the K50IJ-C1 notebook has a unique “Ice Cool” design, which is supposed to maintain a temperature lower than 98 degrees Fahrenheit. But that’s not been the case as after a few hours of use the touch pad felt much warmer than the palm rests.
